New Shoes

Wave Inspire 8
Kim and I went to GoRun yesterday to get our new shoes! I got the Mizuno Wave Inspire 8s and she got the Brooks Glycerine 10s! She had the Brooks Glycerine 9s and liked them alot so she got them again in the new generation! And hers are pink! I tried on the Mizunos, a pair of Adidas, a different pair of Nikes, and a pair of Saucony's but I liked the Mizunos the best! We went to the West store, but they didn't have her size, so they called over to the East store and we went and got them there. I also got a new sweaty band! I got the thin, sparkly, black one!

After shoes, we got lunch at Pita Pit. I got the Hawaiian, which was super good! We went to leave and I couldn't find my keys, then it hit me. I had set them down on the seat next to Elliott's car seat when she started throwing a fit about not wanting to put her shoes on... So... They were locked in my car! I called on of our friends, Bekki, who is pretty good at getting us out of situations like this. So she met us there and we tried for about 2 hours to get the door unlocked. A guys stopped and tried to help us, but it was no luck. I had asked how much it cost to call a locksmith and Bekki said "$75!" I didn't want to pay that! Eventually I called the locksmith, and they quoted me $35. I should have just called in the first place, because I would've paid that rather than mess with it for 2 hours! And it was SO hot! On the phone, the locksmith place asked where we were and what color, year, make and model my car was. Just so happened that there was another red 2004 Saturn Vue in the same parking lot that the guy went to first! I don't know if he tried to get into it or what, but the alarm started going off and that is when we saw him and waved him over to us!

Holy Hooker Heels!

As I mentioned in my last post, my mom and youngest brother came in from out of state this weekend. They got here Saturday afternoon and spent the night, and went home Sunday afternoon.

Saturday we went shopping! I have learned that I still don't like shopping. I tried on a lot of stuff in the "regular sizes" and all the XL was slightly too small, but all of the 1X in plus sizes was too big...

One of my 30 x 30 goals is to buy a pair of HIGH heels! Kim has a pair that she wore to our company xmas party and they are cute and look so fun. While we were shopping, I saw a pair of HIGH heels and I told my mom I wanted to try them on for fun. I tried them on and they are really fun! My mom said "Why don't you get them?" and I said "No, they're not practical and I have nothing to wear them with yet" She ended up making me get them and I think I'm glad I did!

Elliott thinks they are fun too!

We were walking by this dress and I looked at it and said to my mom "One day, I'll wear cute stuff like this!" and she said "Why don't you try it on?" It was a regular size and I tried on an XL and it fit, and I liked it, so I got it. I'm not comfortable wearing it in public yet, but I'll get there!

Headband!

We had a 30 minute run this morning. We went 2 miles. My legs were so sore and tired still from boot camp on Thursday, but I made it through!

After the run and work, Kim, Stephanie, and I went to lunch and then went shopping so Stephanie could get a new running outfit for the 5k. She and Kim bought a lot of stuff, but I only bought a headband! A $20 headband, but still, only a headband! I was so proud.

For lunch we went to Doc Greens. I got a Thai chicken wrap with grilled squash and zucchini. I just looked up the calories and the wrap was 752!!! Geez! The squash and zucchini was only 18! I'll be having a light dinner tonight!

When I got home, Paul and Elliott were not here. I don't know where they are, but I'm enjoying being here by myself. This does not happen often!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Fish Tacos

Today has been a pretty good day. We were supposed to have a lunch meeting at work today, but Stephanie called in sick and then another girl who is pregnant has been having some bleeding and had an appointment for an ultrasound, so our boss postponed the meeting, but asked me to go to lunch with him so he could bounce some ideas off of me. He and I used to go to lunch together often, but the other day he told me that he has been avoiding asking me to go to lunch because I "only eat celery sticks and peanut butter." I told him not to avoid me and that I do eat. When we were leaving he asked, "So, where can you eat?" I told him I can eat anywhere. We went to this Mexican restaurant near by. The menu didn't have any "light" items specified, so I asked the waitress. She gave me a few options and I chose fish tacos. It was grilled tilipia with lettuce, onion, and an avacado sauce with whole beans and a small serving of rice. I didn't eat the tortillas. I also didn't eat any of the chips and salsa! I wasn't even tempted! He had asked me to go to lunch that morning, so I didn't eat my morning snack, and actually didn't even end up eating an afternoon snack.

We run tomorrow, then work, then after work Stephanie wants to go shopping for a new running outfit to wear for the 5k. I might buy a new headband, but I don't think I'll buy anything else.

Today, Kim posted pictures on Facebook of our group work picture from the Xmas party and boy do I look huge!

I have lost about 20 more pounds since then. I still have a ways to go though....

Last night I did my boot camp. It was pretty tough, but it was a good workout. I was DRIPPING sweat throughout! We started with weights, then rowed for 5 minutes, more weights, then we ran a lap around the track, went up and down the stairs and then did it again, more weights, then elliptical for 5 minutes, then more weights, then core, then cooled down with 2 laps walking. I liked it! I'm a little sore today, but I feel good.

I think I'm going to take Elliott to see Sesame Street Live this weekend. I've been going back and forth about it... She went last year (when she was 1) and enjoyed it. I think she would REALLY like it this year! Elmo is one of her faves!
