Get Fit Challenge Week 1

The Get Fit Challenge starts today! Here is my weigh in picture:

I'm not happy at all with this, but it's nobodies fault but mine. I ate with reckless abandon all weekend long.

Challenge Goals:
  • I'd like to lose, at least,16 pounds so I can finish the challenge and start the summer under 200lbs
  • To keep running on schedule as I have been since January. I have a 2 mile race, 2 5ks and a 10k. I'd like to finish the 2 miler sub-30, and the 5ks sub-44. I haven't set a time goal for the 10k yet, but I'll post it as soon as I do.
  • To go yoga, at least, twice a month
  • Track more diligently with WW they way I did in the beginning.

Monday Part 3

Wow, what a week it has been, and it's only Wednesday! Monday was a typically horrible Monday, then Tuesday was Monday Part 2, and today was Monday Part 3! I really hope tomorrow is not Monday Part 4!

We had our Wednesday night Start2Finish group run. My run was freaking fantastic! I ran 2.34 miles in 28 minutes, which calculated (by My Daily Mile) to 12:10 pace! I have never run that fast before! Maybe taking the last 3 days as lazy rest days has paid off!

I also did really good with eating today as well. I started off doing WW points, then I recently switched to calorie counting. I have gotten really lax lately and haven't really been tracking at all. I weighed in at WW on Sunday and I had a 0.4lb gain, so I decided to go back to counting points and counting everything! I hope to someday, not have to track, but today is not the day!

Tomorrow I have boot camp. I'm NOT looking forward to it!

I don't know if I've talked about how Elliott started at a new sitter last week or not. I absolutely adore her though! I wish we'd have found her long ago! I hope she will not have to change sitters again, and will be here until she starts school!

Also, I'm going to participate in the Get Fit: Coast to Coast Challenge and I'm so excited! It's just what I need right now!

Okay, that's all for now!

I Need Some Motivation!

I am in need of some big time motivation. I weigh myself a lot. I only consider my WW weigh in as "how much I weigh", but I still weigh at LEAST twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Before this morning, I had gained every day. I was getting really pissed. I was working out, I was staying within my calorie range, but the scale just kept going up. I got on this morning and had lost 3.2 pounds since yesterday, so that was a relief. I am blaming it on water retention. I went to lunch with my boss on Friday, then out to lunch with Kim and Stephanie Saturday, then shared a personal pizza with Elliott at Sesame Street Live on Sunday. Sodium overload?

We had a scheduled run last night. It was super nice outside and with daylight savings, we had more daylight, so we decided that we were going to run at the park instead of at the Y. We had planned on meeting at the park at 7pm. Paul's car broke down yesterday, so he went with a guy after work to go get it. He didn't get home until about 650p. At 645p, I had kind of decided that he wouldn't be home in time and that I wasn't going to run. I told my self that I'd do it tomorrow. Well, he got home and I texted them that I was just leaving and asked if they would wait for me. Well, the guy from work was still out in our drive talking to him and he started talking to me as well. I didn't end up leaving until about 715p. Our run was 15 minute run, 3 minute walk, 15 minute run. It sucked so so bad! I hated it the whole time! I actually started walking for a few seconds a few times, but they pushed me to do it and finish. I'm glad I did. It just shows me again that the only run you'll ever regret is the one you didn't do. It was funny because a rabbit ran up beside us and scared the beejeezus out of Kim! I thought that she was falling!

I wore the $20 headband on our run last night and it was totally worth it! It didn't slip at all!

Happy New Year!

I gained a pound this week :(. I almost didn't go to WW on Wednesday because of it, but I knew that if I didn't go, I would stay off track and never go back. So I went. I saw my gain, had it recorded, and I have moved on. I'm trying to concentrate on the good things, like how I lost (even with the 1 pound gain) 15.2# between Halloween and Christmas. How I still, on January 1st, have Halloween candy in the house! I normally wouldn't last until November 1st! How I lost weight the week of Thanksgiving. I'm proud of what I have accomplished in 2011, even when I just started this journey in the last quarter.

Last year, I was really sad to see 2010 go. It was the year I had my daughter and that was one thing that made it so very special. This year I've been so glad to see 2011 go, and I'm not sure why. When I reflect on it now, it wasn't all bad. We bought our first home. I got a promotion with a really good raise. My daughter started walking and talking. We got new furniture. I think it has to do a lot with all the weight I gained (and that Paul and I had a HUGE fight on our anniversary, that really sticks out). But I'm determined to get to a healthy weight in 2012 and I know it's going to happen.

I joined the YMCA yesterday. I want to take an exercise class. I think it will be fun. I hope it will be fun. I want to do a swimming class with Elliott, but I want to lose some more weight before I have to get into a swim suit.

I start my running program this coming Wednesday and then I meet with a personal trainer at the Y this coming Saturday. I think that is a great start to my weight loss goals in 2012.

We went to Paul's brothers house last night to celebrate NYE and despite my bringing vegetables and clementines, I still managed to eat more sweets than a person trying to lose weight. I did however track everything I ate. My goal for this week has been to track truthfully and I'm doing well so far. I keep telling myself: Your body keeps accurate record of everything you eat, regardless of what you write down ;)

Well, here's to another week and another wonderful year.
